When he was drafted 4th overall in the 2015 draft Kristaps Porzingis looked like another bad decision made by the New York Knicks in their attempt to rebuild the franchise. Playing in Sevilla, Spain at the time he wasn’t rated highly enough to justify New York picking him and was greeted by boos from Knicks fans on draft night.
He quickly changed the hearts and minds of fans by establishing himself as a pain presence (and a substantial one at 7”3) and a unique player in the sense that he could dribble and shoot in the same way a slashing guard would.
